Instructions:

Download and Installation:  (Registration) (Removal) (Upgrade) (Windows Vista)

Use the following steps to download and install Quick ePics:

1. Click one of the "Download Now" links on the Mission Peak 'Download' page. (This displays the "File Download" dialog shown below.)

   

2. Click the "Save" button, to save the setup-file 'quickepics_setup.exe' to disk. (This opens the "Save As" dialog shown below.)

   

3. Click the "Desktop" icon (along the right side of the dialog), then click the "Save" button. (This begins the file download and opens the Download Progress dialog shown below.) (Note 1: You can save the setup file to any folder on your hard drive, but saving to the Desktop is usually easiest.) (Note 2: If for some reason the download fails, simply repeat the steps described above.)

   

4. When the download completes, the following dialog is displayed.

   

5. Click the "Open" button. (This automatically starts the Setup Wizard, which performs the Installation {see next image below}.) (Note: You can also Manually start the Setup Wizard, by double clicking the downloaded setup file "quickepics_setup.exe", using Windows Explorer.)
   

   

6. Follow the Setup Wizard's on screen instructions to complete installation. (When setup is complete, proceed to the registration instructions shown below.)

Registration Instructions:

Once Quick ePics is installed, you need to register it on your computer using the following steps: (Note: After purchase, you receive a confirmation email containing your registration codes. These codes are required to complete the registration procedure described below.)

IMPORTANT -- "Windows Vista" Users:

• Vista users must perform the following one-time procedure after installing, but before registering QuickePics. (Vista will not let you register or run Quickepics, until this step is performed.)
  
  
  1. Start Windows Explorer.
  2. Navigate to c:\Program Files\Quick ePics\
  3. Right click the application file "quickepics.exe", then select "Run as Administrator" from the popup menu. (Note: If the file extention "exe" is not visible, then look for the file named QuickePics with "Application" listed next to it in the "Type" column.)

  Important: Please read this Windows Vista Note

1. Start Quick ePics by double clicking its Desktop Shortcut (shown above). (This opens the "Evaluation Notice" dialog shown below.) (If Quick ePics starts without first displaying the "Evaluation Notice" dialog, then the program is already registered on your computer.)

(This dialog is only displayed when Quick ePics is not registered on your computer.)

2. Click the "How To Register" button. (This opens the "Register Now" dialog shown below.)






3. Enter your registration codes exactly as they appear in your registration email. To avoid data entry errors, copy/paste the codes from the registration email directly into the Register Now dialog. (The registration email contains four codes, they are: Reg. Name, Reg. Email, Reg. Date, Reg. Number. These codes form a matched set.)



4. Click the "Ok" button to save your entries and to complete the registration process.

Notes:

1. Once you register Quick ePics on your computer, your registration never expires. You can install updates without re-registering.
2. Keep your registration codes in a safe place. If your hard drive crashes and you reinstall Windows, then you may have to re-install and re-register Quick ePics.
3. If you loose your codes, you can use the Mission Peak "Replace Lost Codes" page to get replacements.

Application Removal:

1. Close all programs.
2. Click the Windows Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
4. If applicable, click the Install/Un-install tab.
5. Select Quick ePics from the list of installed programs, then click the Add/Remove button.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Upgrade Instructions:

1. You must un-install your Old version of QuickePics, before you can upgrade to a Newer version. (See Application Removal instructions above.)
2. After your old version is removed, follow the instructions given above to download and install the latest version of Quick ePics.
   

   Upgrade Notes:

   • If you do not remove the old version of QuickePics prior to installing the new one, the Setup Wizard will prompt you to "Repair" or "Remove" the current version. If this happens, select the Remove option and follow the on screen instructions. Once the application is removed, you must manually restart the Setup Wizard, to install the new version. (To manually restart the Setup Wizard, double click the setup file (quickepics_setup.exe), using Windows Explorer.
     
     
   • Windows Vista users must elevate QuickePics' execution rights after installing the upgrade (See Instructions Above).
