Word-ePics (pronounced Wordy Pics) is a shareware application for
Documenting, Presenting, and Archiving large and small image collections
(*). Word-Pics produces output in four different formats: slideshow, trip
report, thumbnail gallery, and project index. Outputs created with
Word-ePics can be displayed without installation on any PC that supports a
Web Browser, and can be automatically burned to CD's or DVD's for sharing
and permanent storage.
Word-ePics' unlimited length image descriptions, make
it a handy tool for documenting trips, events, and even personal property.
(Examples: trade show summaries, job site status reports, private real estate listings,
vacations, birthdays, the family's digitalized slide collections, personal insurance inventories,
or anywhere else picture descriptions are useful or necessary.)
Product Features:
- Multiple Output Formats: Multiple output formats are generated for each project to
accommodate different purposes and tastes, as well as, to provide backwards compatibility with legacy
computer display formats (e.g. VGA, Super VGA, and XGA). Output formats are available for
Report, Index, Slide Show, and Gallery.
- Powerful Image Viewing Options: The outputs generated by Word ePics provide many features usually found
only in dedicated image viewers. These features include shrink-to-fit, best-fit, full-fit, actual-size, zoom in and out,
view-lock, zoom-lock, slide-print, and full-size-popups. (Also, because the outputs run in a web-browser,
additional features, such as, image-copy, image-save-as, and image-email, are readily available.)
- Unlimited Length Image Titles and Descriptions: Unlimited length titles and descriptions can
be added to fully document each image. (Text editing tools include Search and Replace, Spell Check (*), and Multi-Level Undo's and Redo's.)
- Uncluttered Presentation: The generated outputs are uncluttered to provide maximum
space for viewing your images and text. (The SlideShow format, for example, displays only a thin alignable toolbar.
The rest of the screen is available for images and text.)
- No Software Installation Required: Output will run on any PC with a web browser.
- Full-Resolution Archival Copies: Copies of your original full-size (full-resolution) images are archived on each output disk, ready for high resolution printing.
- Built in Image Editor: The application includes a built in image editor for cropping, resizing, compressing, and image correction, as well as, for adding border and shadow effects.
- Built in Disc Burner: The built in disc burner makes it very easy to burn project CD's and DVD's (***) for archiving and sharing.
- Spell Checking, Search and Replace, and Multi-Level Undo's and Redo's: (*)
- Easy to Store & Organize Output: Output disks are easily stored and organized, and
your images, text, (and memories) are conveniently protected from hard-drive disasters and other types of system failures.
Creating one disk per trip or event, is still arguably the safest and easiest way to archive your photos.
(Projects can also be reloaded from CD's and DVD's disks.)
- Printable Project Index: A fully customizable
project index (with thumbnails) can be printed for cataloging
your image collection. (It can also be used for presentation notes.)
- Project Collaboration: Output disks can be shared and further modified by business associates, friends,
and family, allowing projects to be created collaboratively. (Note: Members who collaborate, must have Word-ePics
installed on their computers. However as mentioned above, only a web-browser is required to view the created outputs.)
- Support for Multiple Cameras: Images can be added from multiple
cameras, then sorted into a single chronological sequence.
- Resizable Text Editor: The text editing area can be sized
to nearly full screen, which is handy if you dislike typing in small cramped
spaces.
